Hamlet Town Council Approves Budget Cuts
The Hamlet Town Council last week made cuts to the 2016 budget in anticipation of their 2017 spending plan. Clerk-Treasurer Kristina Pitts advised after meeting with officials from the Department of Local Government Finance that the town needs to zero out its general fund cushion in order to avoid a state-mandated cut. Hamlet Town Board Meets; Yard and Street Closure Discussed
The Hamlet Town Board met on May 1 with a light agenda.
Hamlet Clerk-Treasurer Kristina Pitts said the board members were reminded of the town-wide yard sale that is scheduled for the weekend of May 18 and 19. Sales will begin at 8 a.m. both days.
