Clemons Sentenced on Methamphetamine Charge

A ten-year prison sentence was handed down to a Knox man in Marshall Superior Court No. 1.

Tony Clemons, Jr., 36, pleaded guilty in a plea agreement with the state to a charge of conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine. He admitted that he assisted in the manufacture of methamphetamine on multiple occasions at an 8th Road address.

Clemons had been on parole from a previous conviction of burglary from another county and failed a drug test previously administered by his parole officer, according to a news release from the Marshall County Prosecutor’s office. Police went to the 8th Road address in July and found a burn pile with remnants of methamphetamine labs. Officers applied for a search warrant. Once the search warrant was executed, officers found items associated with manufacturing methamphetamine.

Marshall County Judge Sentences Man to 20 Years on Burglary Charge

A Fort Wayne area man was sentenced to 20 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to a charge of burglary.

Jeffrey Lusch, 58, admitted to Marshall County Superior Court No. 1 Judge Robert O. Bowen that broke into and entered a home on Baker Street in Plymouth on June 28, 2013 and was discovered by the homeowner. Lusch had entered the home through a window and the homeowner was in the basement at the time. The homeowner emerged from the basement and found Lusch inside the home. He then fled from the residence with the homeowner in pursuit and on the phone to police. Plymouth police officers were able to respond quickly and apprehended Lusch.

Probation Revoked for Wabash Man

After violating probation on several occasions, a Wabash man will be spending some time in prison.

Curt Bolin, 25, admitted in Marshall Superior Court No. 1 that he had violated probation several times, according to a press release from Marshall County Prosecutor David Holmes. He admitted to testing positive for methamphetamine, morphine, codeine and hydromorphone in a drug screen within six months of his release from prison. He also failed to report to his probation officer as ordered.

Walkerton Woman Sentenced to Ten Years in DOC

A Walkerton woman was sentenced in Marshall Superior Court after admitting to possessing heroin in her apartment located in Culver.

She pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of heroin within 1,000 feet of a housing complex. She was sentenced by Judge Robert O. Bowen to ten years in the Indiana Department of Corrections on that charge. Owens was additionally sentenced to a year-and-a-half in prison on a charge of neglect of a dependent in an unrelated case. The sentences will run concurrently, or at the same time, and she was ordered to undergo intensive drug treatment in the purposeful incarceration program.

Man Pleads Guilty to Manufacturing Methamphetamine in Car

A man was sentenced in Marshall Superior Court 1 on Wednesday after he pleaded guilty in a plea agreement with the state on a charge of manufacturing methamphetamine while traveling in a vehicle.

Gary Beatty, 27, admitted in court that on Sept. 17, 2013 he was manufacturing methamphetamine in his vehicle. A concerned citizen notified police of suspicious activity inside the vehicle and a traffic stop was initiated after a Marshall County deputy found that the license plate number returned to a different vehicle and it was expired. Beatty could not supply the officer with a valid registration and current insurance. As a result, the vehicle was impounded.

Plymouth woman was sentenced to 10 years in the Indiana Department Corrections after pleading guilty in a plea agreement with the state to charges of conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine and neglect of a dependent.

Amanda Heeter admitted to Judge Robert O. Bowen in Marshall Superior Court 1 that she conspired with two other defendants to manufacture methamphetamine in her home on Loon Court in Plymouth. She also admitted that the act of manufacturing methamphetamine placed a dependent child in danger.

A Plymouth man was sentenced after pleading guilty to a charge of burglary and several other unrelated charges in a hearing in Marshall County Superior Court 1 on Thursday.

Mikal Lopez, 23, admitted that he broke into a home on Pennsylvania Avenue on Jan. 4, 2012 and stole a video game system with controllers, a video game and a dish full of coins. On Jan. 25 of this year, Lopez was arrested after traffic stop was conducted where officers found him in possession of a quantity of marijuana and a drug for which Lopez did not have a valid prescription. It was also learned that Lopez never obtained a driver’s license.

Argos Man Sentenced on Meth Charge

An Argos man’s criminal case wrapped up in Marshall County Superior Court 1 after he was sentenced Thursday morning.

John Bobby, 49, pleaded guilty in a plea agreement with the State to a charge of possession of methamphetamine within a public housing complex. The terms of the agreement called for a ten year sentence in the Indiana Department of Corrections on the charge which Judge Robert O. Bowen accepted. Bobby was sentenced to that term with no part of the sentence suspended and he will be able to participate in purposeful incarceration while imprisoned.

Meth Offender Sentenced to 12 Years in Prison

A Plymouth man was sentenced to 12 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine and theft.

Thomas Howell, 50, was arrested in March after police arrived at the Red Rock Inn in Plymouth looking for him. The owner of Quality Setters, Inc. called to report that Howell was stripping wires from buildings. When they arrived at the room at the motel, officers could see people inside the room through a curtain even though they weren’t answering the door. After the occupants reportedly moved items around in the room, the door was opened and officers asked for Howell.

A Fort Wayne man was sentenced in Marshal County Superior Court 1 to ten years in the Indiana Department of Corrections after pleading guilty in a plea agreement with the State to a charge of Manufacturing Methamphetamine as a Class B felony.

Brandon Shakelford admitted that he assisted in the manufacture of methamphetamine on May 19, 2013 at a home on East St. in Bremen, which is located directly across the street from Sunnyside Park.

Former Plymouth Resident Receives Ten Year Prison Sentence

A ten year prison sentence was given to a former Plymouth woman after she pleaded guilty in a plea agreement with the state to a charge of Conspiracy to Manufacture Methamphetamine.

Tara Chizum, 36, admitted providing pseudoephedrine and cold packs to David Garman on Sept. 1, 2013 so he could manufacture methamphetamine in a motel room at the Super 8 Motel in Plymouth. Garmin was recently sentenced to 15 years in the Department of Corrections.

The sentence was left up to Marshall County Superior Court Judge Robert O. Bowen with the maximum sentence to be ten years, according to the plea agreement. After hearing testimony for an hour, Judge Bowen concluded that Chizum was in great need of drug treatment. He sentenced Chizum to ten years in the Indiana Department of Corrections. She can petition the court for purposeful incarceration after serving two full years.

Meth Cook Receives 15 Year Prison Sentence

A former Plymouth resident was sentenced Wednesday in Marshall County Superior Court 1 after pleading guilty to a charge of Manufacturing Methamphetamine as a Class B felony.

Peter Devine, 35, admitted that between March and April 2013 he manufactured methamphetamine in his home directly across from Webster Elementary School in Plymouth. Anonymous complaints had been investigated by the Plymouth Police Department and officers executed a search warrant at the home in the 1100 block of South Michigan Street where they found several precursors and paraphernalia. Some items in the home field tested positive for heroin and methamphetamine.

15-Year Sentenced Handed Down to Knox Man

A man who manufactured methamphetamine in a motel room in Plymouth in September was sentenced in Marshall County Superior Court on Thursday.

David Garman, of Knox, checked into a room at the Super 8 motel and proceeded to manufacture meth in the room. A housekeeper cleaning the room for the next guest found what she believed to be parts of a methamphetamine lab. A Plymouth officer confirmed that the items were used in the manufacture of meth. Also found at the scene was a cell phone with texts pertaining to meth, the need for precursors and the availability of finished meth product. Officers discovered the phone belonged to Garman.

Plymouth Man Sentenced to Six Years in DOC

 
 
A six-year sentence was given to a defendant who could not discontinue purchasing a key ingredient in the manufacture of methamphetamine despite being incarcerated for methamphetmine-related crimes in the past.

Chad Isom, 36 of Plymouth, had previously been incarcerated for Dealing in Methamphetamine and had prior drug convictions for ten misdemeanors and two felonies. When he was released from prison after serving a sentence on the dealing charge, he returned to purchasing pseudoephedrine-based products – the essential ingredient in the manufacture of the drug.

A Wabash man was sentenced in Marshall County Superior Court 1 on Thursday after previously pleading guilty to a Class B felony charge of Dealing in a Narcotic Drug.

Judge Robert O. Bowen accepted the plea agreement between the state and the attorney for Nathan Harrison, 23, and sentenced Harrison to ten years in the Indiana Department of Corrections. The agreement included a recommendation of intense drug rehabilitation treatment through incarceration.

A ten-year sentence was handed down to a Plymouth woman in Marshall County Superior Court 1 on Thursday.

Judge Robert O. Bowen accepted a plea agreement between Marie Graham’s defense attorney and Chief Deputy Prosecutor Nelson Chipman where Graham will spend 10 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to a charge of Manufacturing Methamphetamine, a Class B felony. Two years of the sentence was suspended and purposeful incarceration was also included in the final agreement. For her guilty plea, charges of Conspiracy, Possession of methamphetamine and Possession of Paraphernalia were dismissed.

A ten-year prison sentence was handed down to a Plymouth man Thursday afternoon in Marshall County Superior Court 1.

Judge Robert O. Bowen accepted a sentencing agreement between Andrew White’s defense attorney and Chief Deputy Prosecutor Nelson Chipman where White pleaded guilty to charges of Manufacturing Methamphetamine and Possession of Stolen Property. White was sentenced to 10 years on the Manufacturing Methamphetamine charge and 18 months for the Possession of Stolen Property charge. Four years of the sentence was suspended.

Plymouth Man Sentenced to 12 Years in DOC

A 12-year prison sentence was handed to a Plymouth man in Marshall County Superior Court 1 on Thursday afternoon.

Raymond VanBlaricom, 27, admitted in open court that he manufactured and possessed methamphetamine on May 19 at a home in Bremen. That night, a homeowner told Bremen Police that two people came to her home with drugs and then began manufacturing methamphetamine. She ordered the pair to leave the home and refused. When police arrived at the scene, they found VanBlaricom and another suspect in the bathroom in the residence with an active one pot methamphetamine lab.
