The Oregon-Davis School community is stepping up in the fight against cancer and sudden infant death syndrome. Superintendent Bill Bennett says last month’s benefit for the Just in Case Foundation proved successful. “The Just in Case Foundation was started by one of our teachers who unfortunately lost one of their twins to SIDS,” Bennett explains, “and as a community, we raised $12,000 to help launch that foundation.”

Three organizations that help Starke County kids through some of the most critical moments of their lives have gotten funding help from The Hive Ladies’ Giving Circle. The Hive announced this year’s grant recipients in a Facebook video Thursday.
