Tri-Township School Board Tables LaCrosse High School Office Rental Proposal

A Starke County pipeline services business’s proposal to place its official office inside LaCrosse High School drew opposition from the Tri-Township School Board as well as community members. During Thursday’s school board meeting, Superintendent Kelly Shepherd explained that Pugh Pipeline Services has offered to rent an underutilized office for $2,500 a year.

Future Plans for LaCrosse School Building Remain Uncertain

The Tri-Township School Board has decided to move high school classes to Wanatah, but what happens to the 105-year-old LaCrosse School building still remains to be seen. Superintendent Kelly Shepherd says there still isn’t any update on a possible use, and an estimate on how much it might cost to maintain it once it closes in 2022 still hasn’t been completed.

Tri-Township School Board to Pursue High School Relocation Proposal

The Tri-Township School Board is moving closer to a project that would close the 105-year-old LaCrosse school building and move high school classes to Wanatah. The board voted unanimously Thursday to issue notice for a 1028 hearing to be held at its November 19 meeting. It’s a required step designed to give the public a chance to weigh in on the need for the proposed project, before a final decision is made and bonds are issued.
