Pulaski County once again has a decision to make, when it comes to IT services. Back in July, the county commissioners disbanded the county’s IT department, and later agreed to contract IT services out to DeGroot Technology. Now, DeGroot has notified officials that it will stop providing services to the county in January.

Pulaski County officials continue to voice concerns with the county’s IT arrangements, but organizing a discussion is proving to be a challenge. Some county council members had wanted to discuss IT plans with the county commissioners and had apparently asked to have it included on Monday’s joint session agenda. But when it was sent out, the only item listed was the approval of the prior joint session minutes.

Pulaski County is a step closer to having a formal agreement in place for IT services. Last week, DeGroot Technology presented a proposal to the county commissioners. The company would be available for county work 16 hours per week, but the county would only get billed for the hours that are actually needed.
