This year’s Winamac Town Park cleanup day is scheduled for Saturday, April 4 from 8:00 a.m. to noon. It’s a chance for residents and local organizations to help with various tasks. The date was finalized during last week’s park board meeting.

The Winamac Park Board will reorganize for 2020 tonight. Board members will select a president and vice-president. The board’s secretary and attorney will be up for reappointment, as well.

Plans call for the old brick restrooms to be demolished and replaced with a new structure, with more ADA-compliant stalls and more room in general. The park board received bids from the FORM-IT Corporation for $165,000 and Gariup Construction Company for $347,500.

The Winamac Park Board is planning for a couple events at the end of April. Last week, board members agreed to let Kingdom Kids daycare facility host a color run fundraiser at the Town Park on the morning of Saturday, April 27.

The Winamac Park Board will elect a new president tonight. Courtney Poor had served in that role from the board’s inception in 2016 up until his resignation last month. Meanwhile, Steve Miller has been selected by the town council to replace Poor as a board member.
