Knox Kiwanis Club Still has Limited Function

There is technically not an active Knox Kiwanis Club. Even though the remaining members have not given up their charter, the club has for many months been an associate member of the North Judson Club.

What happened to this once proud club? According to Todd Wallsmith, who tried to keep the club together with membership drives, it was the “perfect storm” of calamities that doomed the club.

Knox Kiwanis Baskets to be Delivered Today

Since the 1970’s, the Knox Kiwanis Club has helped those in need with Christmas food baskets and yesterday, members of the Knox National Honor Society and the Student Council, plus North Judson and Knox Kiwanis members, helped assemble those baskets at Community Services of Starke County.

Knox Kiwanis Club is down to Seven Members

The Knox City Council discussed Halloween at it’s most recent meeting. Even though it’s a little early, the Council established Monday, October 31st as the official Trick or Treat night.

The reason they discussed Halloween is that the Knox Kiwanis Club has traditionally put on the Trick or Treat costume judging and party. The Council has been informed that the Kiwanis Club may not be able to sponsor the activities this year.

Knox Kiwanis Food Basket Promotion a Huge Success

Members of the Knox Student Council, National Honor Society and dedicated volunteers assembled food baskets, Thursday, at the Community Services of Starke County building for the less fortunate families in Knox. Students and members of the Knox Kiwanis Club will distribute food to those families in Knox.

Food Donations Needed for Kiwanis/Knox Schools Food Drive

The Knox Kiwanis Club and the Knox School Corporation are teaming up to help families in need this holiday season.

The two organizations are collecting food and/or cash donations to help Knox families. The requests for food baskets are greater than the donations. If you have food that you can donate to these organizations, you may drop it off at the Knox High School Office today or Thursday, or call 772-1670. The students and Kiwanis members will be assembling the food baskets on Thursday and delivering them to families on Friday.
