LaPorte Hospital Foundation Launches Hospice Campaign
The annual philanthropic campaign to support quality hospice care throughout the region was recently launched by the LaPorte Hospital Foundation, encouraging those who haven’t already donated to consider giving to Indiana University Health La Porte VNA Services.
Since 1982, Hospice has provided compassionate care to individuals who are at the terminal stage of life by assisting with their physical, emotional and spiritual needs with an emphasis on pain management. Services are offered in La Porte, Porter, Starke and St. Joseph counties. Continue reading
LaPorte Hospital Foundation Awarded $10,000 to Fight Breast Cancer
The LaPorte Hospital Foundation for the fourth year in a row, on behalf of IU Health Starke Hospital and the Starke Health Fund, was awarded grant funds from the Northern Indiana Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure to help fight breast cancer, and Katie Sarver, the wellness outreach program manager for IU Health LaPorte, told WKVI that these funds will go a long way toward helping women with cancer get their diagnoses early.
La Porte Hospital Foundation Awarded $3900 Grant
The La Porte Hospital Foundation, on behalf of IU Health Starke Hospital and the Starke Health Fund, was awarded a $3900 grant from the Indiana Breast Cancer Awareness Trust.
Through funding from the trust, the La Porte Hospital Foundation Breast Cancer Project will assist low-income, uninsured women older than 40 and women at any age who are at high risk for breast cancer to receive screening mammograms through a physician’s referral.
LaPorte Hospital Foundation Receives $15,000 Grant
The LaPorte Hospital Foundation, on behalf of IU Health Starke Hospital and the Starke Health Fund, was recently awarded a $15,000 grant from the Northern Indiana Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure to help fight breast cancer.
This grant will assist low-income, uninsured women age 40 and older and women of any age who are at high risk for breast cancer to receive screening or diagnostic mammography services through a physician’s referral. This year’s funding also provides for the purchase of breast biopsy equipment for the Imaging Department at IU Health Starke Hospital.
