LaPorte County Man Arrested after Police Pursuit

A Westville man was arrested on Tuesday after he fled police in a vehicle.

LaPorte Police Department officers initiated a traffic stop on Boston Street near the Norfolk Southern railroad crossing near Factory Street. The officers recognized James D. Brinsfield, 38, who was wanted on a charge of dealing in a schedule I controlled substance (heroin) as a Class A felony.

Two Arrested on Cocaine Charges

A 50-year-old man and a juvenile were recently arrested for their alleged role in dealing cocaine.

Officers from the LaPorte County Metro Operations Unit arrested Joseph M. Szynal and the 15-year-old juvenile without incident at a home in the 100 block of McClung Road in LaPorte. Cocaine was seized in this incident.

An investigation led to the arrest of the pair for the distribution of cocaine in and around the city of LaPorte.

Accused heroin dealer, probation violator jailed in LaPorte County

A LaPorte woman faces between 20 and 50 years in prison for dealing in heroin and is jailed on a $100,000 bond. Officers from the LaPorte Metro Operations Unit and LaPorte Police Department served a warrant on Rita M. Parker, 29, at the Country Acres Apartment complex. They also arrested Tony B. Bankson, 34, of LaPorte, at the same residence. He was wanted for a probation violation and is currently jailed without bond. Both Parker and Bankson are housed in the LaPorte County Jail.

LaPorte Woman Arrested on Class A Felony Charge

A LaPorte woman was arrested Tuesday after officers from the LaPorte County Metro Operations Unit served an arrest warrant.

Thirty-year-old Rachel M. Heaphy was wanted on a Class A Felony charge of Dealing in a Schedule II Controlled Substance. She was arrested without incident at her home in the 700 block of Maple Avenue in LaPorte. She is being held in the LaPorte County Jail with no bond.

This arrest is the result of an ongoing investigation into the sale and distribution of illegal drugs in the City of LaPorte. Additional arrests are anticipated.

LaPorte Man Arrested For Dealing Heroin Following Anonymous Tip

A LaPorte man was taken into custody after LaPorte Metro Operations Unit detectives executed an arrest warrant on Wednesday.

Twenty-year-old Thomas J. Dykstra was arrested for an outstanding arrest warrant through LaPorte County Circuit Court for Dealing a Controlled Substance, heroin, as a Class A Felony. He is currently being held in the LaPorte County Jail with no bond.
