Pulaski County Plan Commission Votes to Ban Wind Turbines
The Pulaski County Advisory Plan Commission has recommended banning wind turbines. The vote drew a standing ovation from a packed room of local residents and landowners at the Star City Community Building Monday. It came after a public hearing on proposed changes to the county’s Unified Development Ordinance that would have significantly restricted wind turbine development.

Culver Schools Finalizes Monterey Building Sale
The Culver Community Schools Corporation has finalized the sale of the Monterey School Building. Interim Superintendent Chuck Kitchell says the corporation closed on the sale Monday. Lawrence and Diana Loehmer purchased the building and surrounding land for $60,000. Continue reading
Monterey School Building Purchased by Hardware Store Owners
The Monterey School Building has been purchased by a pair of local business owners. Lawrence and Diana Loehmer submitted the high bid of $60,000 for the former school and the surrounding property. Their bid was formally accepted Monday by the Culver School Board. Continue reading
