The idea of Starke County taking ownership of Koontz Lake Lions Club Memorial Park will soon be brought to the county commissioners. Lions Club members say they plan to continue maintaining the park as long as they can, but transferring ownership to the county would save them the cost of insurance.

Koontz Lake Lions Club Memorial Park could soon be under county ownership. The Lions Club bought the site in the 1970s and has been running it as a park ever since. 150 Years of Wanatah Celebrated with Three Days of Festivities
Today is the second day of the weekend long Wanatah Sesquicentennial celebration. The “Times Remembered” historical demonstration tent as well as the kids rides will start up at 10 am in the Wanatah School. Come out for the parade at 11 am that will be immediately followed by a Classic Car Cruise-In located in the parking lot of Lions Club Park. Continue reading
