Pulaski County Council Approves Budget Transfers to Cover Increased Use of Part-Time Help

Starke County Highway Department Maximizes Federal and State Funding

 The Starke County Highway Department has parlayed available federal and state funds into significant road improvements. Superintendent Rik Ritzler told the county commissioners Monday the county was awarded more than $1 million in Federal Highway Administration construction funds to replace the bridge on 1200 East across the Yellow River. Winamac Identifies Uses for LOIT Distribution

The Town of Winamac is formalizing a list of uses for the $194,000 the town received in Local Option Income Tax funds from the state. During Monday’s town council meeting, Town Manager Brad Zellers recommended that Winamac buy a new leaf machine with some of the money. Continue reading →

Culver Receives LOIT Distribution, Mulls Matching Grant

This week, Town Council members agreed to establish a Local Option Income Tax Fund per the direction of the Department of Local Government Finance. It’s the requirement to properly receive funds designated for road funding and repairs.
