
Pence Extends Emergency Propane Proclamation Through March 1

Fifty Hoosier families were honored with the presentation of the Hoosier Homestead Award by Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann and Indiana Agriculture Director Gina Sheets. Hoosier Homesteads are farms that have been owned by the same family for more than 100 consecutive years, and must produce at least $1000 worth of agricultural products per year or consist of at least 20 acres. The award ceremony took place on Friday at 1 p.m. in the North Atrium of the Indiana Statehouse in Indianapolis.
The Pulaski County Republican Lincoln Day dinner was held last night.
More than 50 attended the event and heard presentations from Indiana State GOP Political Director Trent Hagerty and Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson. The keynote speaker for the evening was Indiana Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann. She spoke of the many goals of the administration including cutting taxes for Hoosiers, creating the highest job rate in Indiana history, expanding current Indiana technology into new and different uses, and making Indiana an even more attractive place for businesses to locate and operate.
Indiana Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann was the guest speaker at the Marshall County Farm Bureau Luncheon Wednesday afternoon.
She spoke of “The Future of Rural Indiana” and how the state is working to provide a better rural Indiana to help agriculture, entrepreneurship, economic development, visioning, community development, rural workforce development and infrastructure.
An 11th grader from LaPorte High School was honored at the Statehouse for placing first in an essay contest.
Jessica Bohlin was recognized by Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann and State Representative Tom Dermody (R-LaPorte) for her winning essay in the contest entitled: “Our Food, Our Farmers: Nourishing Generations of Hoosiers.” Five other essay winners were also acknowledged in two other age categories at the Statehouse Tuesday.
The Indiana Main Street Program is administered by the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs and focuses on four different strategies to promote downtown development: organization, design, promotion and economic restructuring. All aspects are vital in restoration efforts of the community.
Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann recently made the announcement of this development and the program manager for Indiana Main Street stressed that the members of the LaPorte community are supportive of the organization’s revitalization efforts.
