Prospective college students and their parents can get their questions about college in general and Ancilla College in particular answered during an upcoming event. The school is hosting an Access Ancilla Day on Thursday, Oct. 23. Vice President for Admissions Eric Wignall says the event gets under way at noon EDT on the Donaldson campus. He says it’s open to all ages but especially encourages high school juniors and seniors and their parents to drop by for a visit. Plymouth Man Jailed in Starke County Robbery, Beating
A Plymouth man faces a pair of felony offenses in Starke County following the recent robbery and beating of an elderly Knox man. An officer from the Starke County Sheriff’s Office was called to the IU Health Starke Hospital emergency room Wednesday, Oct. 7 after Sisco Wireman was brought in after an apparent assault. Ancilla College officials recently announced plans to build a second residence hall on the Donaldson campus. Vice President of Admissions Eric Wignall says work on it will start as soon as the new student life center is finished.

Culver Town Council Discusses Future Plans with Park Board
The Culver Town Council is working with their Park Board on plans for the coming year.
Both bodies met during a joint work session meeting on Tuesday evening to cover land use, revenue, and a Master Plan for the Town Park. That plan is still in draft form, being described as early in the process.

State Livestock Grant Applications Available
Grants are available from the Indiana State Department of Agriculture to promote and market livestock in order to foster growth within the industry. Educational programs, livestock shows and exhibitions, conventions and similar events and projects are eligible to apply for funding. Grant dollars cover things like value-added feasibility studies, research projects, market development and other projects that encourage the development of business and industry related to livestock production, processing and distribution.
