A 24-year-old man is in custody following the death of a 3-year-old child who was shot and killed at a residence on Farmington Drive in Terrace Acres Mobile Home Park in Michigan City. At approximately 3:36 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15, officers from the Michigan City Police Department were summoned to the home in reference to a child who had been shot, and upon arrival, officers determined that the child was deceased as the result of the gunshot wound. The child was identified as Lance Wilson.
Three Arrested in Armed Robbery Incident in LaPorte
Three Illinois men have been charged in an armed robbery incident at the AT&T store in LaPorte on Monday.
Daniel J. Wright, Marcus Harris and Trebort L. Hardiman, wearing hoodies and masks, allegedly entered the store on J. Street in LaPorte and demanded phones and money. One of the suspects reportedly displayed a handgun.
Five LaPorte Men Arrested on Federal Drug Charges
Five LaPorte men were taken into custody Tuesday night on federal drug charges.
Richard “Ricky” Ruiz and Zacharias Cisneros were arrested on charges of Distribution of Cocaine and Conspiracy to Manufacture, Distribute and Possess Cocaine; Oscar Arzate and Juan Gallardo were arrested on charges of Distribution of Cocaine, and Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine, Conspiracy to Manufacture, Distribute and Possess Cocaine; and Leobardo Campos was arrested on charges of Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine and Conspiracy to Manufacture, Distribute and Possess Cocaine.
LaPorte County TRIAD Launches New Project
LaPorte County TRIAD is launching a new project to assist senior citizens. I.C.E., which stands for In Case of Emergency, is designed to give senior citizens a way of informing medical, fire or police personnel with vital medical information in case they are incapacitated and unable to provide the information.
