North Judson Council to Hold Public Hearing on Alley Vacation Request Tonight

The North Judson Town Council will take comments on an alley vacation request tonight. Tom DeCola owns three parcels of land off of Simmons Street, but they’re separated by what are technically alleys. During the previous council meeting, Clerk-Treasurer Andrew Rowe said DeCola’s request only appears to apply to the alleys between those parcels, not to those bordering any other properties.

Ball State Students Discuss Downtown Revitalization Opportunities with North Judson Leaders

Starke County Economic Development Foundation Exploring County-Wide Housing Initiative

A coordinated approach to housing development could be on the horizon for Starke County. Starke County Economic Development Foundation Interim Director Lisa Dan says Knox Mayor Dennis Estok is very interested in pursuing a housing development project, and she recently asked the North Judson Town Council if they’d like to join.

North Judson Agrees to Pay $11,000 to Settle Dispute over Water Line Damage

A two-year-old dispute over a damaged water line was finally resolved during last week’s North Judson Town Council meeting. HRP Construction had been asking for more than $14,000, to cover the cost of repairing a line it damaged while working on the town’s water project in 2019. But figuring out who was responsible and how much money should be given was complicated.

North Judson Council Authorizes Application for More COVID-19 Response Money

North Judson is applying for another round of COVID-19 relief for local businesses, but it will be up against some stiff competition. The town council voted Monday to let officials apply for another $200,000 from the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs’ COVID-19 Response Program.
