North Judson is making some final adjustments to its splash pad. James Young told the rest of the town council last week that the new feature at Norwayne Field was being winterized, after it had been open for a brief preview period. Utility crews were working to replace two sections of pipe to eliminate some fittings, after it was discovered that were causing a minor leak.

North Judson Clarifies COVID-19 Business Relief Funding, Council to Discuss Application Process

Now that North Judson has been awarded $250,000 to help small businesses, town officials will now begin working on how to distribute the money. Clerk-Treasurer Andrew Rowe has clarified that the money will be distributed to businesses as grants, not loans as the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs said in its announcement Thursday.

North Judson Railroad Donation Could Be Opportunity for Erie Trail Extension

Efforts to extend the Erie Trail toward Hebron could get a boost, if North Judson were to donate part of its short line railroad to the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum. That’s according to representatives from the Prairie Trails Club. Steve and Kathy Lucas voiced the group’s support for the proposal during Monday’s town council meeting.

North Judson Council Agrees to Proceed with Almost $21,000 in Non-Street Paving Projects

The Town of North Judson is moving ahead with some non-street paving projects. The work will include the sidewalk along Norwayne Field, a set of railroad tracks near American Oak, and the alley running parallel to Lane Street between Main and Adair. The town council last week agreed to hire Town & Country Paving to do the work at a cost of just under $21,000. The only other quote the town received was for over $56,000.
