The Knox Board of Works has chosen a contractor for upcoming paving work. Rieth-Riley Construction was recently selected for the city’s Community Crossings projects, as well as an additional parking area in Wythogan Park that isn’t eligible for the matching grant.

Ten roads in the northern part of Knox are set to be resurfaced, with funding from the most recent round of INDOT’s Community Crossings program. Last month, Knox was awarded more than $302,000 to cover 75 percent of the cost of approved projects.

Mayor Dennis Estok says work is taking place on East Street from John Street to State Road 8 and on all of East New York Street. Rieth-Riley crews will be doing milling and street resurfacing work until at least Friday. Motorists are asked to avoid those roads whenever possible.
