Join the staff of Kankakee Valley Broadcasting for today’s ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the launch of WYMR-FM, MAX 98.3. The 6,000 watt radio station is licensed in Culver and Plymouth and is a sister station to K99.3 WKVI FM and Kountry KVI 1520 AM, both of which are licensed in Knox. Plymouth High School Students Participate in National Day of Service
Plymouth High School Key Club members participated in a National Day of Service on Monday to honor the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr.
Several students were at the Plymouth Fire Department washing fire trucks while others were lifting and carrying boxes down flights of stairs to help organize things at the Marshall County Museum. The animals at the Marshall County Humane Society got some exercise Monday morning when the students took them out for walks and played with them. The students also cleaned the cages and gave the animals food and fresh water.

Linderman Arrested on Warrant after 2011 Incident
Plymouth City police officers have arrested a suspect after investigating additional information received from a case in 2011.
The additional information was received on Nov. 4, 2014 regarding a house fire at 707 Pearl Street in Plymouth on March 3, 2011. According to a previous report, an explosion occurred at the residence where a victim was severely burned and another injured. A meth lab was discovered at the residence.
Detectives followed up on the additional information received and requested the reports be reviewed by the Marshall County Prosecutor.
Attempt to Pass Counterfeit Bill Leads to Drug Arrest
A Marshall County woman is jailed on a $50,000 cash bond after officers investigating a report of a fast food restaurant customer trying to pay with a counterfeit $20 bill reportedly found an active meth lab. Continue reading
Dogs at the Library Program Scheduled in Plymouth
The Plymouth Public Library is sponsoring a special program for children on Tuesday, Jan. 13.
The “Dogs at the Library” program is planned where children can read books to dogs. The members of the Marshall County 4-H Dog Club will have their dogs at the library for this event. The gentle, trained dogs will sit and listen to any story that a child would like to read aloud.
Parents can take pictures during the event and children of all ages are welcome to attend.
The “Dogs at the Library” event begins at 6:30 p.m. ET in the children’s room at the Plymouth Public Library. It will last about an hour. This program is available again on Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 6:30 p.m. ET. For more information, call (574) 936-2324.
GIS Data Contract Approved for Plymouth Trail Project
The Marshall County Commissioners have approved a measure to help the City of Plymouth move forward with the Greenway Trail.
City Attorney Sean Surrisi told the commissioners last week that the city is attempting to complete phase two of the grant-funded project. Officials with SEH Engineering need GIS data in order to continue with the design work.
“In order for them to prepare the plans, they would like to have some GIS data for that area,” explained Surrisi. “We’ve made a similar request before and we were able to put together a contract where we signed off and said we were guaranteeing that the contractors were just going to use the information for this project and not for any other commercial purposes.”
Officers Identified in Police-Involved Shooting Incident in Plymouth
Officials from the Indiana State Police, Bremen Post and Plymouth Police Department have released the names of the officers involved in a shooting in Plymouth. Trooper William B. Ennis and Plymouth officer Matthew Emenhiser were involved in firing shots at Lane Dodson of Plymouth Monday evening.
Trooper Ennis conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Dodson. Dodson pulled his van into the Kmart parking lot and Trooper Ennis waited for a Plymouth officer, Emnenhiser, to assist at the scene. The pair walked up to the driver’s side window to question Dodson about an alleged domestic issue that occurred earlier in the day. When Dodson was asked to step out of the vehicle, Dodson reportedly raised his gun at police and the officers fired their guns.
ISP Investigating Officer-Involved Shooting in Plymouth Kmart Parking Lot
An officer-involved shooting last night in the parking lot of a Plymouth store resulted in serious injury to a suspect in a domestic battery case. The man, whose name has not been released, allegedly raised a gun at a state trooper and a Plymouth Police Officer when asked to get out of his vehicle in the KMart parking lot. Sprint Reimbursement Enables Marshall County EMA Equipment Purchase
Sprint has reimbursed the Marshall County Emergency Management Agency for the interference issue with the county’s telecommunications system. EMA Director Clyde Avery says the $39,000 the FCC ordered Sprint to pay will compensate the county for the reconfiguration of the radios. Continue reading

Bourff Hired as Superintendent at Hamilton Southeastern Schools
A school administrator who got his start in Starke County will take over as head of one of the state’s wealthiest school districts in January. The Hamilton Southeastern School Board voted Tuesday to hire Dr. Allen Bourff as superintendent. He will take over that position Jan. 1. Bourff will be paid $175,000 annually through June of 2016, with automatic annual pay raises if the board deems his performance effective or highly effective. Continue reading

Trespassers Arrested After Fleeing from Police
A pair of Bremen break-in suspects face numerous felony charges in Marshall County after leading police from multiple agencies on a high-speed chase this morning. The caretaker of a vacant residence in the 400 block of Kenilworth Road in Bremen found a man and woman sleeping in the upstairs bedroom, went outside and called the police. She tried to block their SUV to keep them from leaving until officers arrived. She told police the man pulled a gun on her before he sped off through an adjacent field. Continue reading
Jefferson Street Bridge to Open Today
The Jefferson Street bridge in Plymouth will open to traffic today.
Marshall County Supervisor of County Highways Jason Peters told WKVI News that the bridge will open at 6:30 a.m. ET. Crews from Beer and Slabaugh will continue to work on the northeast corner of the bridge but traffic will be allowed to pass.
