The Pulaski County Highway Department can proceed with ordering a new truck. Highway Superintendent Terry Ruff told the county council Monday funds for a new Mack truck are in the 2017 budget, but he would like to get it ordered now. Pulaski ATV Ordinance Nearly Ready for Vote
Pulaski County’s proposed ATV ordinance is not yet ready for a vote.
The ordinance is designed to allow off-road vehicles on county roadways, largely for the purpose of agriculture. Licensing would be required for the ATV’s through the Bureau of Motor Vehicles under the current ordinance language.
Election Board Refers Hat Flap to Commissioners
The Pulaski County Commissioners may not be able to prohibit the wearing of campaign attire at their meetings. Supporters of District 1 Commissioner candidate Jerry Locke were asked to remove hats promoting his candidacy while in attendance at a recent meeting. A new fence around a collapsed building in downtown Monterey should be in place by this evening. Monterey Town Councilman Doug Denton says the Pulaski County Building Inspector advised a chain link-type fence will be placed around the rubble from the former Sportsman’s Lounge at the southeast corner of Main and Walnut Streets. County Home Rezoning Pursued for Easier Marketing
Plans to make the former Pleasant View Rest Home easier to sell are in the works following Monday night’s Pulaski County Commissioners meeting.
The property ceased operations about one year ago for several reasons, with the property put up for sale for possible future development or renovation. In an effort to make the property easier to sell, Pulaski County is hoping to rezone the site to a residential building.
