Questions Answered about County Home’s Historical Register Nomination
The Pulaski County Commissioners and the Pulaski County Council met in joint session last night that included a presentation by members of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Historical Preservation and Archaeology. Paul Diebold, who is a member of the committee, answered many questions concerning the historic eligibility of the Pleasant View Rest Home.
Janet Onken from the Pulaski County Historical Society submitted a 31-page application to the DNR Historical Preservation and Archaeology in order to nominate the county home as a historic structure.

Pulaski County Historical Society to Host Columbus Day Event
The Pulaski County Historical Society will host a Columbus Day event on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 8 p.m. to midnight ET at the Winamac VFW.
The event will feature the musical stylings of the Eel River Band of Logansport who perform at a variety of events in the Pulaski County area.
Pulaski Historical Society Plans Halloween Event
A special Halloween event is being planned by the Pulaski County Historical Society.
A “Phantom of the Vurpillat” will be held at the Vurpillat Opera House in downtown Winamac on Saturday, Oct. 27. Autumn and Halloween games will be played and kids will be able to make crafts, eat snacks and participate in other entertainment. Activities for adults include wine tasting and a band later in the evening.

On this date 108 years ago, Dr. Guy B. Ingwell was born. In his day, Dr. Ingwell delivered thousands of Starke County babies. He once delivered five babies in one day! He was also at one time a successful high school basketball coach.
