Medaryville Man Arrested on Domestic Battery, Strangulation Charges

A Medaryville man was arrested on Sunday after police found that he allegedly hit his live-in girlfriend and attempted to strangle her.

Officers from the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department were called to 201 N. Jefferson Street in Medaryville on a report of battery. Officers learned that the victim had come home from the store and found Carl Larkin, her boyfriend, intoxicated and argumentative. The two argued and as the victim was placing grapes into the freezer, Larkin allegedly punched her in the face and then placed his hands around her neck and reportedly began to choke her. The officers arrived on scene and found Larkin in the residence and he was ordered out of the residence. He did not comply after a few attempts and after he jerked away from police, he was struck with a taser. He then complied with police and he was taken into custody.

Knox Residents Arrested after Hit and Run Accident

Two Knox residents were arrested after a traffic accident in Winamac on Sunday.

The Winamac Police Department investigated the scene where driver, Mathew Hall of Indianapolis, stated that he was stopped at the traffic light at the bridge construction site on US 35 in Winamac when John Rupert, of Knox, rear-ended his vehicle. Both drivers exited the vehicle and Hall told police that he spoke to Rupert and his speech was slurred and he appeared to be “messed up”. Hall said that Rupert and his wife, Charlotte Rupert, who was a passenger in the vehicle, then ran toward an apartment complex south of the scene. The pair were later located inside an apartment hiding and were later arrested and taken to the Pulaski County Jail.

One Vehicle Accident Injures Francesville Resident; Charges Pending

Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department officers were called to a single-vehicle accident scene on County Road 500 South near 1600 West in Francesville on Sunday. Kenneth Nuest, 47, of Francesville told police that he was traveling on County Road 500 South when he fell asleep. His vehicle hit some gravel which caused him to wake up. He reportedly was traveling off the roadway on the north side of the road. He attempted to correct the vehicle and told police that he believes that he over-corrected. The vehicle then began to fishtail and the vehicle left the roadway and began to flip and slide.
