Pulaski County Prosecutor Files Charges Against Former Deputy Coroner
Formal charges have been filed against a former Pulaski County official who is accused of stealing items from a dead man. Prosecuting attorney Daniel Murphy tells WKVI News he’s charged 41-year-old Tracy Rossman of Winamac with official misconduct as a level 6 felony and theft as a class A misdemeanor since the items she is accused of taking are valued at less than $750. According to the Pulaski County Commissioners, the site – which ceased operations as a senior living environment this year – is now moving forward with a realtor. The County Home, as it’s referred to, was closed for budgetary reasons and other reasons related to the cost of making repairs.
Storm Damage Assessments Underway Locally
A few local counties are among the 29 in which local, state and federal officials have started assessing damage from recent storms. The assessments are part of the multi-step process to determine whether Indiana qualifies for public assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to repair damage caused by severe weather and flooding between June 7th and July 29th. Such assistance reimburses government and some nonprofit agencies for eligible expenses. Locally the list of counties being evaluated includes Marshall, Fulton and Pulaski. Continue reading

More Than 1600 Hoosier Students Benefit from Field Trip Grant Program
