Knox Fertilizer now owns its 72,000 square foot building on 100 East. The company recently repaid the Starke County Economic Development Foundation and City of Knox the money they put up to build the structure. Utility Bill Corrected for Reageant Chemical
The Knox Board of Public Works approved a utility bill credit for Reagent Chemical.
Knox City Clerk-Treasurer Jeff Houston explained that a coding error occurred and the industry was billed $397.74 more than necessary. A decimal point in the wrong spot was reportedly to blame and was picked up by the staff.
Knox City Council Approves Five-, Ten-Year Abatements for Reagent
Reagent Chemical and Research in Knox will soon be expanding, thanks to a series of tax phase-ins for the company. The Knox City Council at a special meeting last night approved the phase-in for Reagent, allowing the business a five-year deduction for new manufacturing equipment and a ten-year deduction for two real property improvements.
Mayor Rick Chambers explained that this is a mutually-beneficial agreement for both Reagent and the city of Knox.
