A convicted murderer and child molester has been found not guilty of failure to register as a sex offender. The Northwest Indiana Times says Richard Dobeski was cleared of the charges last week by Starke Circuit Court Judge Kim Hall following a bench trial. The case had been moved out of LaPorte County.
Prosecutor Clarifies Circumstances Behind Sex Offender’s Release
A convicted sex offender with a pending case in LaPorte County is free after the Indiana Court of Appeals reversed his conviction from Marion County.
Richard Dobeski was charged in both LaPorte and Marion Counties on July 23, 2015 with the Level 6 felony offense of failure to register as a sex offender. LaPorte County Prosecuting Attorney John E. New Charges Filed Against Convicted Murderer, Child Molester
A convicted murderer and child molester is back in jail after his arrest yesterday at a public library in Indianapolis. Richard Dobeski, 67, was picked up on a LaPorte County warrant for four counts of failure to register as a sex offender. All are Level 6 felonies, which carry a penalty of between 6 months and 2.5 years in prison. A failure to register charge will also be filed in Marion County, according to officials with the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department. Released Convicted Murderer Saw Unrelated Charges Dropped in Pulaski County
A man recently released from prison, and convicted of murder and child molesting, has a history in the Pulaski County Court system.
67-year-old Richard Dobeski was let out of an Indiana Department of Corrections Facility in New Castle this month. He was convicted on two counts of murder dating back to 1965.
