The Pulaski County Board of Zoning Appeals wants more time before deciding whether a solar farm proposal can move ahead with its permitting process. After almost two hours of public comment Monday, board members voted to table the Mammoth Solar special exception request, to give them more time to research the project’s potential impact on the environment, ecology, and wildlife, as well as residents’ health.

The Winamac Town Council will hold a public hearing for their 2018 budget tonight at 6 pm EST in the Winamac Utility Complex. Their regular session will commence immediately following the adjournment of the hearing. Continue reading
Pulaski and surrounding counties are well represented on the Indiana State Fair Board following the recent election of a Winamac man. Scott Fritz now holds the District 1 seat. The board manages the annual event, which takes place each August in Indianapolis. The 2016 fair will run Aug. 5-21. Visit http://www.in.gov/statefair/fair/ for more information.
A Winamac man has been named to a national agriculture committee. Scott Fritz was named by U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack to the Agricultural Technical Advisory Committee. Fritz’s committee is charged with working on trade in grains, feed, oilseeds and planting seeds.
