Starke County Fair Chamber Wheel Exceeds Fundraising Goal

The chamber prize wheels at the Starke County 4-H Fair proved once again to be popular attractions, raising a combined total of $724 to support the promotion of local businesses. Contestants paid either 50 cents or $1 per spin, with prizes ranging from ink pens, toys and candy to Indiana Beach tickets and refurbished computers. Every spin produced a winner, based on the slot on which the wheel landed. A total of 48 Starke County Chamber of Commerce member businesses donated items for the giveaways. Chamber director Debbie Mix says the fundraiser far exceeded its original goal of $550, thanks to the efforts of nine chamber board members and representatives from six additional chamber members to staff the booth each night of the fair.
