NIPSCO Officials Update Commissioners on Transmission Line Project

ReynoldsTopekaESIPLogoSite clearing work is under way for construction of NIPSCO’s 100-mile, $270 million above-ground electrical transmission line. It will connect the power company’s three major transmission substations in Reynolds, Burr Oak and Topeka as required by the grid operator for the Midwest region. NIPSCO officials say the new transmission line will enhance system reliability, offer environmental benefits by increasing access to wind and solar energy and allow for greater access to supplies of electricity including improved access to lower cost electricity for customers. The Oregon-Davis School Corporation spent time balancing its 2015 calendar year budget on Monday.

School boards across the state typically use the final meeting of the year to ensure all line items are in balance prior to closing the books. Oregon-Davis is not exempt from those efforts as board members considered reversions in the school corporation’s Capital Projects Fund.

Couple Pleads with Pulaski County to Intervene on Library Closure

Pulaski County CourthouseA couple of concerned citizens have requested the help of the Pulaski County Commissioners.

The Medaryville branch of the Pulaski County Public Library is slated to close or, at the very least, operate with limited internet capacity by the end of the year. The location is shutting its door to full services due to a lack of funding and a lack of use by patrons.
