The Knox Community School Corporation has raised the pay rates for substitute teachers. The new pay rates were approved by the school board last week, at the recommendation of Superintendent Dr. William Reichhart.

The Eastern Pulaski School Board has adjusted the pay structure for substitute teachers. Board members approved the change this month, at the recommendation of Superintendent Dara Chezem. “Our sub pay is extremely difficult to track, based on the current policy,” she explained. “Currently, subs get paid one rate for their days one to 20 and then another rate for days 20 plus, and that’s not consecutive days.”

Pay Raises Included in Eastern Pulaski Employee Compensation Plan
Several Eastern Pulaski school employees will be getting a raise. The school board approved a compensation plan Monday for employees not covered under the collective bargaining agreement.
Eastern Pulaski School Board Discusses Substitute Teacher Pay Policy
A request to increase the pay for a substitute elementary school teacher was up for approval at the Eastern Pulaski Community School Board meeting Monday night.
Superintendent Dan Foster explained that Joan Murray has taken on the roll of a teacher twice so far this year. At the beginning of the year she filled in for Dana Field for five weeks. Most recently, she started subbing for Brandi Kappes and will remain in that position until January.
The superintendent explained that Mrs. Murray has taken on quite a few more responsibilities that warrant additional compensation. Continue reading
