LaPorte County authorities were able to stop an individual from harming themselves during the overnight hours on Friday.
LaPorte Sheriff’s Deputies took a man into custody after a standoff where the subject was allegedly making suicidal threats.
According to information released by the department, the 31-year-old suspect became upset following a custody battle with his wife over their 2-year-old son. The mother was given custody of the child earlier in the day.
