More Than 25 People Arrested in Multi-Agency Enforcement on Tippecanoe River

Nearly thirty individuals were taken into the custody after concerns from Pulaski County residents prompted a multi-officer patrol on the Tippecanoe River on Saturday.

Authorities report that Indiana DNR Conservation Officers conducted a patrol on the river on August 31st in response to citizen complaints that included excessive littering and other suspected criminal activity. Some of those issues were addressed during a previous Winamac Town Council meeting.

Pulaski County Commissioners Suggest Clarifications, Conditions for Wind Turbine Ban

The Pulaski County Commissioners are recommending some additional language for the county’s proposed ban on wind turbines. On Monday, the commissioners voted to send a list of amendments to the advisory plan commission. It was drawn up for the commissioners by Community Development Commission Executive Director Nathan Origer.

Flooding Creates Headaches for Winamac Town Park

The Town of Winamac is starting to clean up its park facilities, following recent flooding. Park Manager Dave DeLorenzo told the park board Thursday that the park office got nearly 14 inches of water, and he’s begun pulling out damaged insulation. Park Board President Courtney Poor expressed confidence that the town departments will work together to do what needs to be done.
