A man accused of stealing his father’s checkbook and forging a series of checks for a total of more than $2000 made his appearance in the Starke Circuit Court last week for his initial hearing.
Todd Doland, Jr., 30 of Whiting, pleaded not guilty to four counts of Forgery as a Class C felony and one count of Theft as a Class D felony. Doland is accused of stealing his father’s checkbook and forging at least four checks for $150, $250, $200, and $1750.
