Pulaski County has once again chosen Town & Country Paving for its next road project. County Road 1450 West is set to be resurfaced between 200 South and the Town of Francesville, according to Highway Superintendent Gary Kruger.

The Town of North Judson is moving ahead with some non-street paving projects. The work will include the sidewalk along Norwayne Field, a set of railroad tracks near American Oak, and the alley running parallel to Lane Street between Main and Adair. The town council last week agreed to hire Town & Country Paving to do the work at a cost of just under $21,000. The only other quote the town received was for over $56,000.

They accepted the company’s bid for just under $1.18 million Monday, at the recommendation of Highway Superintendent Terry Ruff. “We had Town & Country last year,” Ruff said. “They done 200 South and that stretch out here by Lawton. They’re all right, so if they’ve got the low bid, why wouldn’t you go with them? It was close between them and Central Paving, but that’s why you bid it off, I guess.”

The Pulaski County Commissioners have once again taken action to chose a paving contractor for several miles of hot mix asphalt work. Town & Country Paving was selected by the commissioners Tuesday to resurface County Road 200 South from U.S. 421 to State Road 39 and County Road 400 East from 200 North to 400 North.
Pulaski County now has three contractors interested in doing several miles of paving work, as part of the state’s Community Crossings program. The county commissioners had approved a contract with Central Paving of Logansport for nearly $1.2 million, but they later repealed that decision to allow the project to be bid out formally.
The North Judson Town Council has chosen a paving contractor, but the work won’t actually be done until next year. Last week, the town council accepted a quote from Boyd Asphalt of Valparaiso for just under $167,000. That’s about $16,000 cheaper than the other quote, submitted by Town & Country Paving.
