Only a few bricks remain of the demolished Washington Township School.
According to township officials, Chris Loehmer Excavating successfully took down the building in mid-November. All of the debris has been removed. The park is now open, but patrons are warned that some small pieces of glass are still present which could cause injury.

Washington Township officials will be deciding soon on what to do with the grounds once all of the debris is cleared. Previous discussion has surrounded around a park with more playground equipment or the construction of a gazebo although no plans have been finalized.

The Washington Township School will be demolished Tuesday. Officials told WKVI News that the contractor has delayed the project by one day.
The building has been a safety issue in the area and could not be rehabilitated at a reasonable cost.

Washington Township officials are looking for ideas on how to improve the Washington Township Park property, also known as the old Washington Township school.
Fundraising ideas are being considered to improve the property.
Bids were taken two years ago for the demolition of the building, but repairs to the Washington Township Community Building took precedence to provide a nice facility for community events.
