Burglary Suspects Nabbed Following Pulaski County Pursuit
A man and woman from Monticello were arrested in Pulaski County early this morning after trying to outrun sheriff’s deputies. They responded to an open-line 911 call from a residence in the area of State Road 39 and County Road 400 South around 2 a.m. and found a man and a woman in a vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence. 46 Children in Pulaski and White Counties Participate in Shop with a Cop Event
Officers from the Pulaski County and White County Sheriff’s Departments took 46 children from both counties shopping in the 3rd Annual Shop with a Cop event on Saturday.
The children enjoyed pizza and visiting with Santa before going shopping at the Monticello Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart had awarded $1,000 to be used to purchase items for the children. A total of $2,640 was donated to the Shop with a Cop program by many generous donors in Pulaski County for the 20 children from Pulaski County who were chosen to participate.
The 20 children were randomly chosen by Pulaski County Sheriff Michael Gayer from a list of children provided to him by Health and Human Services, Eastern Pulaski Schools and West Central Schools. Sheriff Gayer said that the look on the kids’ faces is worth the money and time put into this event.
Winamac Man Arrested after Stolen Items Found in Residence
Jason Creque, of Winamac, was arrested Tuesday in Pulaski County on Theft charges after a search warrant was executed by Pulaski County police.
An ATV, hunting clothing, household items, toys, and tools were reported stolen by a homeowner on 475 W., south of 900 S. in Pulaski County. When Pulaski County officers investigated the shooting incident between Creque and Josh Isom on October 5th, detectives observed the stolen items at Creque’s residence at 7948 S. 475 W. in Winamac. Detectives obtained a search warrant and some of the stolen items were recovered at the residence. The ATV was recovered in Carroll County and some of the hunting items were recovered in Monticello.
Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department Investigates Shooting Incident
Officers from the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department are investigating a shooting incident that occurred on October 5th near Nice’s Bridge in Pulaski County.
Josh Isom, 27, of Monticello, was reportedly shot in the leg by Jason Creque and sought medical treatment at the White County Memorial Hospital. Further investigation by the White County Sheriff’s Department and the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department found that he suffered a minor gunshot wound. Isom told police that Creque was involved with his former girlfriend and mother of his child. He allegedly told police that he went to Creque’s home to kill him. Isom stated that he took a swing at Creque and was shot in the leg. Creque confirmed to police that he shot Isom and he also attacked him with brass knuckles. Creque told police that he was in fear for his life when he shot Isom.
