Kankakee Valley Broadcasting Presents Bi-County Basketball Tournament
Kankakee Valley Broadcasting will present the 50th annual TCU Bi-County Basketball Tournament in its entirety for the first time. Tony Ross and his crew will have the tip-off between Triton and LaVille tonight on MAX 98.3-FM or possibly WKVI-FM and online at www.SportsToTheMax.net. They will also provide scoring updates from the other first round games during their broadcast. Argos is at Culver, John Glenn is playing host to Bremen, and New Prairie will be at Oregon-Davis. IBA Names WKVI-FM Market 3 Station of the Year
WKVI-FM is the Indiana Broadcasters Association Market 3 Station of the Year. General Manager Jerry Curtis says the judges look closely at the service stations provide to the community.
“We have a full-time, full-service news department. They look at that. They look at other community events that we’re involved in, like the Pizza Hut World Hunger night that we did. Also the radiothon for the Starke County Youth Club. Those are all factors that they consider heavily,” Curtis said. Continue reading
High School Football Season Kicks Off Tonight
High school football season starts tonight. Rivalries are renewed and a clean slate means anyone can make the impossible happen. WKVI and sportstothemax.net will be broadcasting a combined 20 regular season football games. Entering his 50th sports broadcasting season, Harold Welter will be ready to go tonight along with sports director Nathan Welter.
