Wreaths Honor Indiana’s War Heroes

  
 
Across the nation, volunteers are honoring military heroes one wreath at a time through a program dedicated to donating Christmas wreaths to be placed at graves of fallen soldiers across the nation. Wreaths Across America began in 1992, when a wreath-maker donated 5000 Christmas wreaths to be placed at graves at Arlington National Cemetery, and since then, the program has grown to more than 300 locations, including 10 in Indiana.

Dana Vann, the coordinator at the Indiana State Soldiers’ Home Cemetery in West Lafayette, said she gets a lot of satisfaction from the program.

Knox VFW, American Legion to Participate in Wreaths Across America

The Knox VFW and American Legion posts will participate Sunday in the Wreaths Across America program. Three wreaths, donated by Hensler Nursery, will be laid at the Courthouse Memorials at 1 p.m. CT. There will be a short ceremony conducted by the veteran’s organizations.

Wreaths Across America is a national campaign to honor our fallen heros, and Knox is one of 545 locations across America that will participate in the program.

Most of wreaths will be laid at Arlington National Cemetery.
