A Monterey man died of injuries sustained in a vehicle accident in Marshall County just before 9 p.m. on Saturday, March 28.
Officers from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and emergency responders responded to a 911 call of an accident on the curve of State Road 17 at 12th Road where a vehicle hit a tree.
Police say the vehicle left the south side of the curved roadway for unknown reasons and struck the tree head-on.
Emergency responders were able to get 60-year-old William Zehner out of the vehicle. Life-saving measures were initiated, but Zehner died at the scene.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the Plymouth Fire Department and Plymouth EMS.
