Starke County Plan Commission, BZA to Meet Tonight

The Starke County Plan Commission will meet tonight where they will discuss a land splitting requirement and ordinance with Melissa Soltis from North Judson. They will also consider a request to waive a late fee for a contractor registration.

The board will also hear from Building Commissioner Boz Williams and discuss other business.

The Starke County Plan Commission will meet at 5:30 p.m. CT tonight, followed by the Starke County Board of Zoning Appeals meeting at 6:30 p.m. CT.

The BZA members will hold a public hearing to consider an area variance request filed by Martin Salerno to build a pole barn accessory structure on a lot without a dwelling that is less than 10 acres in an area zoned agriculture located on 750 E. across the street from 8140 S. 750 E. in Monterey. A public hearing is also planned to consider an area variance request by David Laidlaw to build an addition to the east side of a dwelling that will be four feet from the property line with the overhang located at 11082 Pottowatomie Trail in Walkerton.

Both meetings will be held in the ground floor meeting room in the Starke County Annex No. 1 building at 53 E. Mound Street in Knox.
