Governor Daniels Visits Kersting’s Motorcycle Museum

Governor Daniels talks to Jim Kersting about the motorcycles in the museum

It’s not unusual for people from far and wide to stop by Kersting’s Motorcycle Museum in North Judson. The Governor of the State of Indiana, Mitch Daniels, stopped in for a visit yesterday and took a tour of the most famous motorcycle museum in the Midwest and the most interesting in the United States. He was given the tour by Jim Kersting.

Tom Berg caught up with the Governor on the telephone as he traveled back to the statehouse.

“I’ve been by it a dozen times and I finally had time to stop in,” said the Governor. “He had a 1949 Harley and that got my attention because that was the year I was born. He’s got the first bike he ever owned, he’s got the first motorcycle ever built that was built in Germany on a wooden frame and wood steel wheels. I should have taken a picture of every one so I wouldn’t forget them.”

If you’re looking for a good time, visit the World of Motorcycles Museum. It’s located south of North Judson off State Road 39 next to Kersting’s Cycle Center.
