Our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Year for the 2010-2011 sports season is Jeremiah Harvey, a member of the Football, Wrestling and Track teams at Culver High School.
Jeremiah capped a remarkable Senior season with a State Championship in the Heavyweight division at the State Wrestling Meet in February, and will be further recognized as a member of the North All-Star Team in their game against the South in July.
The 6-2, 290 pounder was named All-State in football in both his Junior and Senior years, was named the Northern State Conference Most Valuable Lineman and was All-Conference the last two years, as well.
In addition to his State Championship in Wrestling, he was also Regional and Semi-State Champion and Northern State Conference Champion. In Track, he set the Culver school records in both the Shot Put and Discus, was a Regional qualifier in the Shot Put and was a 4-year letterman.
A recognized leader, Jeremiah was named Team Captain for all three teams his Senior Year.
Jeremiah is the son of Trenda Garcia.
