The Knox High School renovation project is moving along. Superintendent A.J. Gappa said crews are replacing the water pipes in the building now and the water main has been shut off to the building so construction can continue. The School Board approved two bids Monday that pertain to the project.
“The Board approved a bid for remounting of the starting blocks in the swimming pool for a price of just over $3,000 and this will save us almost $10,000 from the original estimate,” said Mr. Gappa. “They also approved the addition of a new roof stair to get from the lower portion of the roof to a higher portion of the roof which makes it safer and easier for our maintenance people to do their jobs in servicing the HVAC units. That price came in at just under $10,000, which is about $5,000-$6,000 lower than the original estimate.”
