The Starke County Commissioners signed documents that showed the schedule for the Starke County Drainage Board accounts to be collected in 2012.
In explaining the documents, Commissioner Dan Bridegroom pointed out that Starke County has more drainage boards than any county in the state.
“We handle more drains than anybody in the State of Indiana,” commented Bridegroom. “I think [Surveyor] Denny Estok has done an exceptional job. I know we put a lot of work on him. I sit on three of the boards and Kathy [Norem, Commissioner] sits on three of them and we put a lot of work on him and he’s done quite well. We have very few farmers, or landowners, with concerns that we have not been able to take care of.”
The drainage board schedule was approved and given to Starke County Auditor Kay Chaffins.
