Wind Turbine Constructed at West Central School Corporation

West Central School Superintendent Charles Mellon gave the School Board an update on the wind turbine project during the Board’s meeting on Thursday night.

“The turbine itself is standing,” said Mr. Mellon. “This week, the project is to complete the wiring component. The companies doing the installing are basically on time now. Our delay could be with the utility company as to have their part done in the total project so we hope that that can be completed soon. It is standing. The blades are not turning. They will be during the test time, but in this process we have to have 120 hours of turning time to actually run all of the tests. That’s kind of what we’re waiting on and we’re waiting on NIPSCO so we can start producing some energy.”
