The West Central School Board members approved raises for staff members at their recent Board meeting– the first such change in three years. Superintendent Charles Mellon explained the employees did, however, receive stipends each year.
“They approved the classified staff contracts,” explained Mellon. “Those that are on 12-month contracts received a thirty cent raise per hour and those that are less than that 12-month contract received twenty cents per hour on their hourly rate. This is the first increase they’ve had in three years. We did pay them a stipend each year, but this is the first movement that we’ve made on their contracts that was anywhere close to significant.”
