Knox Community High School may have a new assistant principal in the near future.
Administration and staff at the high school formed a committee earlier this year to accept applications for the position after it was vacated by former Assistant Principal Dave Miller. He has since accepted a position teaching Social Studies at the Middle School.
The Knox School Board is aiming for more flexibility following administrator contract approvals last week.
The Culver Town Council is ready to partner with its local school corporation to save on costs.
An agreement was developed between the two after several Town officials attended a county-wide meeting earlier this year to learn of ways government entities are cooperating.

Knox School Superintendent A.J. Gappa reviewed a few positive results from the recent ISTEP testing and reported that the schools have been, and continue to be, in a pilot program that help to determine test questions next year. The final testing period is April 18-May 6.He reiterated that a new testing formula is to be developed by the State for the 2017-18 year.

A fundraising campaign to help the Culver Community Schools Corporation improve its marketing efforts has reached its first goal. Last week, a GoFundMe account created by a group of volunteers working on the marketing component of the school corporation’s strategic plan surpassed $6,000. “Project Attend,” a plan to improve school attendance of truant students, was discussed by the Knox School Board last night. Under the plan, school officials can inform the court of the student’s attendance records, grades, behavior and what they view is the problem as to why students are not attending regularly.
