The ISTEP scores were released yesterday by Indiana State Schools Superintendent Dr. Tony Bennett and Eastern Pulaski School Superintendent Dr. Robert Klitzman says the students did very well on the state standardized test.
“They did absolutely outstanding,” said Klitzman. “In terms of English and Language Arts, these are the percentages of students that passed the state test, third grade 95.4, fourth grade 92.2 and fifth grade 97.8. In Math, third grade 93.8, fourth grade 96.7 and fifth grade 97.8. In our middle school, they did well and they showed good growth.”
And that’s not even the best part!
“At the fifth grade level, in terms of English and Language Arts and Math, our fifth grade was the number one performer in the entire state of Indiana!”
Klitzman congratulated the students and staff on a job well done.
“I’m so proud of our students and our parents, but especially proud of our teachers. This is a phenomenal thing for Eastern Pulaski Schools. I keep preaching we have great facilities, we have great staff, but there’s irrefutable evidence we have great data. There’s good things happening here in Winamac and Eastern Pulaski Schools!”
Of the 500,000 students in the state that took the standardized tests, 71 percent passed both the language arts and math sections. That’s up one percentage point from last year.
