IU Health is ranked 16th on the U.S. News and World Report Honor Roll for best hospital.
To be included in the honor is the top distinction reserved for the best medical centers across the country that have the highest skill and unparalleled capacity to address the most challenging medical cases.
Eleven clinical programs, including cancer, cardiology, neurosurgery, and orthopedics, were cited among the top specialty programs in the United States. This is the first time an Indiana healthcare system has appeared on the U.S. News Honor Roll.
Thor Thordarson, CEO of IU Health LaPorte Hospital and Starke Hospital, said it was a big day for the hospital system and its 26,000 employees across the state.
IU Health was also ranked first in the state.
