A Knox High School Senior was named Miss Bass Lake for 2012 at a Pageant held Saturday night at the Bass Lake Community Center.
Nicole Knutel was selected from seven candidates vying for the title. Paige Baldacci of Tinley Park, Illinois, a student at Culver Girls Academy was named 1st Runner-Up and Emily Novello of Valparaiso was named 2nd Runner-up.
The newly crowned teen talked about the honor.
“It is the best feeling in the world,” said Knutel. “This is the greatest honor I could ever ask for. I honestly didn’t think I was going to get it. I honestly think I wasn’t even going to get on the court. I’m very blessed.”
She talks about her future plans.
“I’m planning on attending the University of Indianapolis where I will study physical therapy and hopefully go on from there.”
Six-year-old Myah Maroules was named Little Miss Bass Lake and five-year-old Simon Fields was named Little Mister Bass Lake from competition which included 16 children aged three to six.
All of the Royalty will be featured in the parade and other events of the Bass Lake Festival.
Dana White of Plymouth was the Chairperson of the event and Harold Welter was the Master of Ceremonies for the event.
