Starke United this week announced a new partnership with the Northern Indiana Community Foundation in conjunction with the creation of the Starke United Fund.
Starke United Board President Todd Zeltwanger said they’re pleased with this exciting venture, and says they’ll work with the Community Foundation to ensure their organization becomes not only stronger, but more cost-effective as well. He said the partnership will benefit both the organizations that receive funding from Starke United and the donors who faithfully support the organization.
Starke United created the Starke United Fund within the Northern Indiana Community Foundation, Inc., to accept all donations to Starke United. Whether a donor makes a designated gift to a charitable organization or wishes to make a general donation, the Community Foundation will handle distributions and administration of the grant application process already in place.
Sarah Origer, the Director of Development at the Starke County Community Foundation, says the fund’s committee will be composed of the Starke United Board. The committee will review grant applications and make decisions on who will receive the grants.
People who have given to Starke United through direct deposit through their employer will still be able to handle their donations in the same way. Businesses will have donations forms or forms can be obtained by contacting the Community Foundation office.
